THREE PRINCIPLES IN EDUCATION
AS SCHOOL CHILDREN AND YOUTH learn principles behind their inner wisdom, well-being and resilience, they gain a personal awareness and a solid foundation for life. In educational terms, when there is understanding, the learners ‘own’ the knowledge and use it for the rest of their lives.
Four decades ago, Christa Campsall and a small number of other Canadian educators were introduced to author and lecturer Sydney Banks. He shared timeless knowledge of what today is called the Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought. Campsall has created a Pre-K – 12 comprehensive school curriculum, My Guide Inside, grounded in these principles.
The principles Campsall and her team share with students describe the foundation of the human experience, and give children and adults access to their own mental well-being. These principles point individuals to their natural inner wisdom and innate mental health.
When taught in schools these principles can have tremendous impact on education globally. Understanding the principles can create consistently positive outcomes for students and staff alike. Solid outcomes have been documented in Christa Campsall’s secondary student focus group conducted by the National Resilience Resource Center. Curriculum development was informed by formal curriculum pilots with 192 students in primary, intermediate and secondary grades in eleven classes conducted by thirteen classroom teachers or co-teachers in two countries.
Clearly knowledge contained in the MGI curriculum is relevant for anyone, at any age.
